A few hours spent at Good Harbor Bay proved fruitless as the cloud cover was heavy, and it looked as if more than a little rain was approaching. I packed up the gear and made my way back to headquarters but before I got home I decided to stop alongside the road a short distance from my house and take another look at the sky.

I am glad I did--the cloud cover was minimal, and as luck would have it an aurora sub storm was taking place as I stood beside my car, watching in amazement as the lights danced above me. I quickly got the camera setup and the rest, as they say, is history.
